Jon the Photographer - One Man Studio - Available for Hire

Jon Burke works in the fields of photography and content creation. He currently works for Johnson and Wales University as well as Smith College as the main athletic photographer. He also works for Brown University Athletics and freelances for a series of colleges in New England. He can be available for hire for a variety of photographic requests.

He formally worked for the University of Houston as a Photographer & Videographer for the school’s marketing and communication department. His daily schedule consisted of capturing UH’s campus life, creating portraits for magazine stories and news articles, and being responsible for documenting major events for the school. In his free time (and technically also on assignments) Jon would be found roaming the sideline of UH sports games taking photos.

Prior to landing at the University of Houston, Jon spent time freelancing in a variety of fields such as weddings, real estate, and portraiture. Other stops include freelancing for a variety of sports teams in New England and working as a all in one media position for a sports and recreation company.

Jon’s true passions are in photographing landscapes and sports. He is either planning out where he wants to explore next or counting down the days till kickoff. His landscape work has been featured on a variety of travel pages while also having spent time being displayed in galleries in Vineyard Haven and Boston. While attending UNC at Chapel Hill some of Jon’s work was used as a cover for the school’s global calendar in 2018 and hung in the Global Education Center’s office, work which jump started his photo career.
